Karen Kwon

Karen Kwon, Ph.D. is a freelance journalist focused on science, health, and technology. In summer 2020, she worked as an AAAS Mass Media Fellow at Scientific American. Originally from Seoul, South Korea, she earned her Ph.D. in Chemistry from Columbia University. Before her Ph.D., she earned her M.S. in Physical Chemistry and B.S. in Chemistry from Korea University. Though she mainly grew up in Seoul, she also spent some time in Cyril, Oklahoma, and Brighton, U.K. She is interested in topics intersecting science and society.
